We sit within the Edinburgh Medical School, within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, and are headed by Dean, Professor Sarah Cunningham-Burley.

Our research activities are largely based in the MRC Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine and in the Usher Institute, within their component research centres.

Our Dean

The current Dean is Professor Sarah Cunningham-Burley, who has returned to the post in Autumn 2019 after a period of research leave.

Professor Harry Campbell, Deputy Director of the Usher Institute, was Acting Dean in Sarah's absence.

The Deanery is arranged into two Institutes, each with a number of research Centres.

We have extensive facilities across several locations throughout the city. In addition, we have collaborations and links with groups from outwith the Deanery and Edinburgh Medical School.
