Shared research facilities

Core Facilities Group

The College's Core Facilities Group meets regularly to share news, issues and solutions.

Who we are

The College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine (CMVM) Core Facilities Group has representatives from facilities in the Queen's Medical Research Institute, Chancellor's Building, Institute for Regeneration and Repair,  Institute of Genetics and Cancer, and the Easter Bush campus. Representatives from elsewhere in the College are also very welcome.

The group is supported by the CMVM Research Office and meetings are attended by the CMVM Deputy Dean of Research Management.

Chair: Dr Natalie Homer, QMRI Mass Spectrometry Core Manager, Edinburgh Clinical Research Facility.

Administrative coordinator: Dr Ismar Haga, CMVM Research Office.

What we do

The group was convened in 2017 to bring together facility managers, staff and technologists across CMVM to support each other, share best practice and identify and address common issues affecting this staff group.

The group meets quarterly and in between meetings shares information and opportunities via a mailing list.
