Committees, working groups and networks

Learn about the range of University-level committees, working groups and staff networks focused on supporting a positive organisational and research culture.

Research Cultures Working Group

The Research Cultures Working Group works on behalf of the Research Strategy Group to establish policies and mechanisms to promote a positive research culture at the University of Edinburgh across all career stages.

The phrase Research Cultures (plural) is used in recognition of the diversity of our research community which includes research students, fixed-term staff, research leaders, technicians, professional services and support services working in a wide range of disciplines, environments and engaging with very different funders, partners, users and publics.

The Research Cultures Working Group also provides oversight for the implementation group for the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.

Concordat Implementation Group

The Concordat Implementation Group (CIG) has  been established  to support the writing of a two-year action plan to implement the Researcher Development Concordat.  The action plan sets out how the University will embed the Concordat actions in core practices and consider them alongside other University initiatives. The implementation of the Action Plan is managed by the Researcher Development team in the Institute for Academic Development in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and the CIG.  The Group regularly reports to the Research Policy Group.
