Please join us this winter for a series of lively and interesting lectures looking at a variety of health issues.

Let's Talk About Health: Understanding Disease is a series of public lectures running from December 2014 to March 2015.

Come along to hear from some of the University’s most distinguished medical researchers on the latest advancements in biomedical research.

Topics this year include how our genes may contribute to the problem of obesity, how sunshine can an improve blood pressure and how scientists are developing new treatments for critically ill patients.

Our first talk will examine cervical cancer and we will hear how some of Edinburgh's researchers are helping people in the developing world to improve their reproductive health.

Let's Talk About Health: Understanding Disease is all about advancing our knowledge of health and what goes wrong in disease. Join us to hear about new research in our University that is increasing our understanding of diseases and providing new advances in treatment.

Event details and ticket booking

Tickets are free but booking is essential.

All talks will be held in The Queen’s Medical Research Institute (QMRI), next to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and will start at 5.30pm.

Refreshments are served from 4.45pm and wine and soft drinks will follow each lecture at 6.30pm.

The series is organised by Professor Karen Chapman, from the University’s BHF Centre for Cardiovascular Science.
