MSc Physical Activity for Health

In addition to the above BMedSci programmes we also have a one year MSc available to external medicine students.

Regular physical activity is important for all ages and population groups. It is proven to help prevent and treat non-communicable diseases and improve mental health, quality of life and well-being. However, current levels of physical inactivity mean this issue is a pandemic. Therefore, improving levels of physical activity is a global public health priority. The MSc Physical Activity for Health is designed to provide academic training at a postgraduate level enhancing knowledge and understanding of the global issues pertinent to physical activity for health.

Applicants currently undertaking a medical degree and seeking to intercalate on the MSc Physical Activity for Health will be eligible after at least three years of their Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB/MBBS) programmes, or equivalent and will need to have achieved a minimum standard equivalent to a UK 2:1 honours degree at first attempt. Applications should be made through our degree finder webpage for MSc Physical Activity for Health.  Applicants should choose the 1-year full-time MSc option (PTMSCPHACH1F) for submitting their application. Applications for this programme are currently closed but will re-open for 2024 entry in October 2023.
