Phoebe Kirkwood second Tissue Repair student to pass PhD examination

Phoebe kirkwood passes PhD viva
Phoebe Kirkwood (centre) with PhD supervisors and examiners

PhD viva success for Tissue Repair student Phoebe Kirkwood, who passed her PhD examination on Monday with an excellent viva voce. Well done Dr Kirkwood!

Phoebe successfully defended her thesis 'The Secrets of Scarless Healing'. Phoebe did her PhD research in the lab of Prof Philippa Saunders at the MRC Centre for Inflammation Research. In her thesis, Phoebe reports her research into scar-free wound healing that takes place in the endometrium following menstruation, with a view to applying this knowledge to other tissue systems that largely undergo fibrosis in response to injury that causes irreversible damage.

Many congratulations to Phoebe and her supervisors Prof Philippa Saunders, Dr Douglas Gibson, Prof Jane Norman and Prof Neil Henderson with this success.
