Phoebe follows in the footsteps of fellow University of Edinburgh researcher Euan Doidge who was selected Winner of the Highly Commended award in the 2017 U21 3MT® final.
The Three Minute Thesis competition (3MT®), first developed by the University of Queensland in 2008, challenges research students to communicate the significance of their projects to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes.
I am hugely proud of Phoebe and all she has achieved in her PhD. The 3MT competition has provided her with a platform to hone her already excellent communication skills and to deliver on her commitment to public engagement and I am delighted that her work on scarless tissue repair has excited such a wide audience
Universitas 21 is the leading global network of research-intensive universities, working together to foster global citizenship and institutional innovation through research-inspired teaching and learning, student mobility, connecting our students and staff, and wider advocacy for internationalisation. The U21 3MT competition pits the leading presenters from each U21 member university against one another. Each participating member will hold their own internal 3MT competition to select a local winner who will then be put forward (via video submission) for the U21 final, to be judged by an international panel consisting of industry and academic professionals.
