Tissue Repair Postgraduate Training Programme

Jenny Cartwright awarded research funding by Deanery of Clinical Sciences

Congratulations to Tissue Repair PhD student Jenny Cartwright on receiving an award to carry out efferocytosis research.

Jenny Cartwright, a third year PhD student in the lab of Prof Adriano Rossi at the MRC Centre for Inflammation Research, has been awarded nearly £2.5k by the Deanery of Clinical Sciences for her proposed project to analyse the benefits of neutrophil specific macrophage efferocytosis (the removal of dead/dying cells) in tissue repair.

The award has been made possible using Institute for Academic Development (IAD) funding devolved to the Deanery to support activities which support the professional, personal and career development of early career researchersdoctoral researchers and masters students

The award will enable Jenny to carry out proteomic analysis of efferocytosis of neutrophils by macrophages utilising well-established protocols and techniques, in conjunction with the Proteomics & Metabolomics Facility at the Roslin Institute.
