Many congratulations to Ana on this significant achievement.

Ana carried out her PhD research in the labs of Prof Peter Brophy and Prof David Lyons at the Centre for Discovery Brain Science.

During her PhD Ana investigated the assembly mechanisms of axonal domains which are important for saltatory conduction in the nervous system. She specifically focused on mechanisms of CNS myelination and on the assembly and maintenance mechanisms of an axon initial segment-like domain called a proximal segment in PNS dorsal root ganglion neurons.
