Edinburgh Medical School

Who’s who?

1 Medical School. 1000+ staff. 100 prizes to be won. A competition running this autumn helping MBChB students to get to know staff and win prizes in the process.

Students working in the Clinical Skills Centre

Did you know that there are over 1000 clinicians who contribute to teaching in the medical school? Do you know who your year director is or who leads the module you are doing this term?

There are so many teaching and support staff working at Edinburgh Medical School it might seem hard to keep track.

A bit of friendly competition

By getting involved in the ‘Who’s Who’ project you can get to know your teachers and support staff and win prizes along the way.

Profiles mean prizes

Lydia Crow of the Medical Teaching Organisation

Getting involved is pretty straightforward. Just follow these 4 simple steps:

  1. Follow edinburghmedicalschool on Instagram
  2. Track down a member of staff and ask them if you can take a photo, or a short video if they are keen
  3. Pen their profile: Name, MBChB job title, brief light hearted bio and top tip. (75 word maximum bio)
  4. Post the picture and mini profile on Instagram using #mbchbteachers or email to debbie.aitken@ed.ac.uk

Prizes up for grabs

Medical student at Edinburgh Medical School

There are 100 prizes to be won ranging from vouchers to brand new Edinburgh Medical School merchandise. Three top prizes of a £100 gift card will be available for each of the following:

-  The first photo and profile to be posted/received

- The most original photo or video

- The most contributions from one student or team of students

Prize winners are free to choose a voucher for their favourite high street retailer or restaurant.

Who’s Who party and prize giving

Sadly all good things must come to an end but what better way to finish up than with a prize giving and party.

The Who’s Who project will come to a close on Wednesday November 16th and all prize winners will be invited to collect their winnings at a special reception as the Anatomy Lecture Theatre.

Are you a member of staff involved in the MBChB course?

If yes then please do look out for MBChB students taking part in the Who's Who competition. If you are happy to have your photo taken, give a few witty words of wisdom and then return to your daily business that would be wonderful. Thank you!
