Clinical Trials Unit
The Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit (ECTU) sits within the Usher Institute. It acts as a centre-point for the clinical trial activity undertaken across the University and NHS Lothian.
It provides support for designing, running and reporting clinical trials and health service research studies, hosts a methodological research team and supports research capacity building across Lothian. ECTU is closely affiliated with the Lothian Research Safe Haven and provides data linkages services across the University. ECTU achieved full registration status with the UK Clinical Research Collaboration in 2007 and works under a quality framework in accordance with ICH GCP.
