Edinburgh Medical School

Student Wellbeing

Your dedicated student support team in the Medical School is here to help.

We offer one-to-one appointments and drop-ins. We are here to listen and help you find solutions, provide guidance and information, and signpost to support available in the University and beyond.

You can contact us by phone or email, book an appointment online, request support via the referral tool, or just pop by the office!

We are available Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00 (UK time).

Who we are

As well as offering individual support to students, we organise wellbeing activities throughout the year such as a monthly wellbeing newsletter, Blethers at Black Medicine, events with student societies, and much more!

We provide a holistic and inclusive service to support students to maintain their health & wellbeing, enhance their experience, and thrive at Edinburgh Medical School. One of the main responsibilities of medical students is to look after themselves, and we are here to help them to develop the self-care strategies they will take forward in their future careers as doctor.

We want all medical students to feel valued and safe to seek help when they need it within a positive culture of self-care and peer-support.

We are not a crisis service. In an emergency or for out-of-hours support please refer to the Crisis Support webpage.
