Predicted grades

Further information on the provision of predicted grades.

In order to consider an application,  we require predicted grades.  We use final predicted grades as part of the assessment process of your application.  These should be provided by your school and should ideally be included in your UCAS application.

A predicted grade is the grade of qualification an applicant’s school or college believes they’re likely to achieve in positive circumstances.

Applicants who have not provided predicted grades within their UCAS application should ask their academic referee (an academic member of staff at your current school/institution) to provide these.   They do this by looking at your performance thus far and should try to predict your final grade as accurately as possible in line with what they think you can achieve in final examinations.

Please download the predicted grades request form for your qualification and ask your referee to complete this.  Each field within each qualification’s request form should be fully completed to ensure all the information we require for your qualification is provided.

The form must then be emailed directly from your school/institution to us at: futurestudents@ed.ac.uk
