Mara Goetz

3 Minute Thesis winner

Mara, a PhD candidate with Translation Studies, will now move onto the University Final where she will represent the College of Humanities and Social Sciences talking on her thesis topic, ‘Migratory Pathways: Trading Knowledge Transfer.’

The standard of the competitors from across the college was very high making the win all the more impressive.

The final will take place on 24 July from 2pm - 4pm in the Informatics Forum, G.07. Everyone is welcome to be a part of the audience for this event and the school would like to extend an invitation to you to come along and support Mara and hear what will be an undoubtedly fascinating series of talks.

Established by The University of Queensland in 2008 as a single university event, 3MT has spread around the world and is an opportunity for students to gain experience in public engagement by communicating their research to an intelligent lay audience. 3MT contestants must condense their research into a brief, engaging presentation for a non-specialist audience, using a single presentation slide.
