Help at hand for masters students

The University of Edinburgh offers a variety of scholarships to prospective UK and EU students who plan to study a postgraduate taught masters programme.

Awards are based on academic merit and are designed to attract the brightest students in their chosen academic fields.

Sourcing and securing funding can be a daunting task. Our postgraduate scholarships are funded by the University as well as from a variety of external funding bodies.

Highly Skilled Workforce Scholarships

There will be 92 masters scholarships available to UK nationals who are permanently domiciled in Scotland, as well as EU nationals, who have been accepted on an eligible full-time or part-time masters degree programme.

The scholarships will cover the full UK/EU tuition fee.

The application deadline is 1 May 2015.

UK/EU Masters Scholarships

A number of masters scholarships are available to UK and EU students who have been accepted on a one year full-time masters degree programme in any subject offered by the University.

The scholarships will cover the UK/EU tuition fee up to £8,100.

The application deadline is 1 May 2015.

Postgraduate Tuition Fee Loans

Eligible Scotland domiciled students and EU students can apply for repayable student support towards the cost of tuition fees for specific postgraduate programmes of study.

Students can receive a postgraduate Tuition Fee Loan (PTFL) of up to £3,400 for full-time study and £1,700 for part-time study.

The closing date for applications is 31 March 2015.

Scottish Power Foundation Scholarships

The Scottish Power Foundation, in partnership with its Spanish equivalent Fundacion Iberdrola, is funding 17 new postgraduate scholarship grants in the UK for the 2015/16 academic year.

Applicants should be of British, Spanish or American nationality, and hold a good undergraduate degree.

The scholarships programme is part of £1.5m investment in research and education and is open to energy and environment students across the UK.

The closing date for applications is 26 March 2015.

Scottish Power Foundation Scholarships

 

The University of Edinburgh Postgraduate Bursaries

A number of University of Edinburgh Postgraduate Bursaries will be offered to postgraduate students who are in receipt of a Postgraduate Tuition Fee Loan (PTFL) during the 2015/16 academic session.

Each bursary will have a value of £1,000 (for full-time students) and £500 (for part-time students) and will be deducted from your tuition fees.

The closing date for applications is 17 July 2015.

 

Postgraduate Living-Cost Loans

From the 2015/16 session, eligible full-time postgraduate students who are studying on a programme that is supported by the Student Awards Agency For Scotland (SAAS) can apply for a living-cost loan of up to £4,500.

The living-cost loan is not available to part-time postgraduate students.

Further information will be published by SAAS in April 2015.
