The LLC Masters / Arthur Kitchin Scholarship was the deciding factor for where I did my postgraduate studies. It really enabled my studies at one of the top institutions for English Literature. Edinburgh is a fantastic city to experience, with a thriving cultural scene and excellent bookshops. I've had so much practical support for academic development in the LLC postgraduate school, from staff and regular workshops, lectures, and events

I am so grateful for the Arthur Kitchin Scholarship. I have dreamed of studying at Edinburgh for years, and now I get to work with an internationally renowned archive at the School of Scottish Studies to study women’s work song. Without this scholarship I could never have afforded it.

I was extremely pleased to receive the Arthur Kitchin Scholarship in 2017, as it was one of the very few financial avenues available to fund a research-focused postgraduate Masters. It allowed me to attend international conferences and make tracks with my fieldwork, and I heavily encourage anyone with a passion for their subject to apply!
