Entry to honours study

For admission to honours, an overall mark of at least 50% at the first attempt is required.

Students must also gain a pass in one close reading and one comparative essay.

Other individual course and entry requirements are given in the University's Degree Regulations and Programmes of Study. Students should consult these and take any questions to their Directors of Studies as soon as possible.

However, please note:

The School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures have decided to remove the following entry to honours requirements for 2021/22:

·    "A mark of 50% or above in your compulsory LLC courses, obtained at first attempt"

This means that, for all LLC subject areas, a pass mark (40%) obtained either at the main diet, or at resit, will permit progression into Honours.

Please note that other requirements to pass the required number of credits remain in place.

If you are on a joint degree programme, your partner subject may have additional requirements – please check with your partner School for more details if you are unsure.
