“Parallèlement? Word and Image in Russian Avant-Garde Books”
Abstract
Dr Parton will explore the ways in which avant-garde painters: Larionov, Goncharova, Rozanova and Sonia Delaunay extended and developed the Symbolist debate about the relationship of word and image in the context of the artist's book alongside poets such Kruchenykh, Khlebnikov, Bobrov and Cendrars.
