Whether you’re on a single or joint honours degree, are an undergraduate or postgraduate student, studying a language in Edinburgh is a fantastic way to meet people of all backgrounds and cultures.
DELC Creative is for students and staff across all our European Languages and Cultures programmes to come together, practise our languages, and do something creative.
Our projects include an online creative writing magazine, an annual Festival of European Theatre, and a photo competition on wellbeing and the Year Abroad.

Keeping Well Abroad
Photos and reflections from third year students on overcoming the challenges of studying away from Edinburgh.
Participating in DELC projects – including being a Babble editor and hosting the launch of Issues 2 & 3, as well as playing the lead role Henriette in Les Escogriffes’ production of ‘Les Femmes Savantes’ – has really contributed to my experience as a student. It has given me an opportunity to interact with the language in different contexts, and really make myself familiar and get involved with all the opportunities available through the Department of European Languages and Cultures. It has been a wonderful experience to liaise with students and staff.
