Roundtable Discussion with Edinburgh Bookshops

A special roundtable discussion with local booksellers on the history, present, and future of the bookshop in Edinburgh held on Friday 16th October, 1-2pm, in the Project Room (1.06) at 50 George Square.

How have bookshops responded to the advent of the e-book and the online marketplace? What kinds of creative, educational, and community partnerships do Edinburgh bookshops support? What will the bookshop of the future look like?

The guest speakers at this event were Marie Moser (owner, The Edinburgh Bookshop),  Ann Landmann (Events and Marketing Manager, Blackwell’s Bookshop) and Derek Walker (McNaughtan’s Bookshop). The session was chaired by Dr Katherine Inglis, Chancellor's Fellow - Lecturer.

These twinned symposia took place at Harvard University on the 14th and 15th of May 2015 and at Edinburgh University on the 9th and 10th of July 2015.
