Dr William Kelly

Profile of Dr William Kelly, an affiliate of the Centre for the History of the Book.

Dr William Kelly is a graduate of the universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde and an Associate and Fellow of the Library Association.

Apart from a spell in two large university libraries, his career was spent largely in the National Library of Scotland’s Department of Printed Books. 

His research interests are in German and Low Countries bibliography particularly of the seventeenth century, the history of the book in Moravia and book collecting in Scotland. 

He has a strong interest in reference works, especially those relating to Germany and the Low Countries, knowledge of Latin, ancient Greek, German, Dutch and Czech, and considerable experience as a proof-reader and a reviewer.
