Shari Sabeti is a Chancellor's Fellow at the School of Education, University of Edinburgh. Her research involves using qualitative methodologies, in particular ethnography, to investigate contemporary cultures of reading and writing in educational contexts such as schools and museums. This includes the way in which the traditional study of the material book and literature has mutated in response to evolving modes of communication and digital technologies. She has worked on comics and graphic novels, 'born digital' fiction for children, and the adaptation of classic literary texts into visual and digital media. She is currently working with publishers and artists who are adapting Shakespeare's work into graphic forms for teenage readers.
