Elizabeth Elliott is a lecturer in English at the University of Aberdeen. Her current research examines on the emergence of conceptions of identity, community, and a national tradition within Scottish literary culture through the sixteenth-century Bannatyne Manuscript and its influence on a vibrant literary tradition stretching from Allan Ramsay's Ever Green to Patrick Geddes' Evergreen. She is on the editorial board of The Evergreen: A New Season in the North, published by Edinburgh Old Town Development Trust in October 2014.
