Review of School of Scottish Studies Archives

A review of the School of Scottish Studies Archives has taken place.

The review team has made several recommendations for managing the collection.

The main conclusions of the review are that the archive is vital to teaching, research and public engagement and that it should remain as a highly accessible resource. The University has made a commitment to fundraising to provide an upgraded facility that widens this accessibility in the future.

Until an upgraded facility becomes available, this culturally valuable collection will be cared for in alignment with the latest archival standards. Access to the archive for students and researchers will be fully maintained.

An internal group will meet in January 2013 to identify the most appropriate interim arrangements for managing the collections until the new facility is available.
