New Scots: Changing the Narrative Film Screening

Over the past nine months, the Alwaleed Centre's  Syrian Futures project and Media Education have worked together with eight young people from Syria to create five short films that celebrate their lives and achievements here in Scotland.

The films will be distributed to secondary schools, with the goal of challenging assumptions that are sometimes made about people who come to Scotland as refugees. We hope they will encourage a different understanding of the lives and achievements of young Syrian people in Scotland today.

Join us for a celebration of the young people and their work, followed by an informal discussion and refreshments.
