Senior Internal Auditor
Ben (MA (Hons), PGDip, CPFA, CMIIA, ILM) is convenor of the Northern Region of the Council of Higher Education Internal Auditors and is also a member of the CIPFA Scottish Executive Committee.
Ben graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1991 with an MA (Honours) in History, and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from Strathclyde University. He qualified as an accountant with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) in 1997. Ben worked for KPMG , and then in local government internal audit before joining the University's Internal Audit Service in 1999. In 2008, Ben qualified and became a member of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors. In 2012 he completed the Level 3 Institute of Leadership and Management qualification. Ben is convenor of the Northern Region of the Council of Higher Education Internal Auditors.
Outside work, Ben enjoys playing and watching various sports, swimming, hillwalking, reading and history. And also looking after young twins.
