Congratulations to Professor Andrew Jackson FRSE FMedSci, Programme Leader at the MRC Human Genetics Unit in the IGMM, on being elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences (April 2014).

Founded in 1998, the Academy of Medical Sciences is the independent body in the UK that with a mission is to promote medical science and its translation into benefits for society. It represents the diverse spectrum of medical science – from basic research through clinical application to healthcare delivery.

44 distinguished medical scientists were elected to the Academy Fellowship following the Council meeting in April 2014 and join the existing Fellows of the Academy to bring the total membership to 1134.
