Independent study English language materials
Edinburgh University’s English Language Education department provides self-study learning materials on ways to improve English knowledge and skills alongside academic advice.
The topics covered include including academic writing, grammar and presentations, plus advice such as reading and discussing academic texts and writing exam answers. There are modules on speaking and writing English as well as listening and note taking.

English Language Education also offer a range of courses for students whose first language is not English.
The Graduate Writing Centre offers postgraduate students one-to-one sessions to discuss specific areas of academic writing with an English for Academic Purposes expert.
