The Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers (commonly known as the Researcher Development Concordat) is an agreement between stakeholders to improve the employment and support for researchers and researcher careers in higher education in the UK.

The University successfully gained the 'HR Excellence in Research Award' from the European Commission back in 2010 and then retained it over a number of internal and external reviews until September 2020.

The University’s Code of Practice for the Management and Career Development of Research Staff outlines a number of areas of responsibility for the researcher, their manager and the University.

We provide template forms to help you plan and record meetings outlined in the Code of Practice for the Management of Research Staff, plus advice documents for those conducting and attending review meetings.
