Sarah McAllister, Head of Operations & Projects | IAD Assistant Director
Role in the IAD
I am the Head of the Operations and Projects Team and an Assistant Director at the Institute for Academic Development. The team provides support across IAD to manage all aspects of operational support, including: acting as first point of contact with students and staff, course and event organisation, case study collection, website and online resources, Human Resources, Finance and IT.
In addition, the team supports specific projects (eg. Festival of Creative Learning and Near Future Teaching), funding schemes, external consultancy activities, and provide project management for other externally funded projects.
An important focus of my work is to enhance IAD collaboration and engagement with colleagues in Schools and Colleges and beyond to support high quality teaching and research provision in Higher Education.
For the past 16 years my work has focused on supporting and enhancing the student learning journey through higher education. At the University of Edinburgh, I have previously worked in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and the College of Science and Engineering. My professional interests include:

- Development of programme provision and resources
- Leadership of change and change management projects
- Collaborative learning agreements
