Role in the IAD

I am one of two Research Staff Career Consultants who sit within the Researcher Development Team. I provide careers support to research staff within the University, through individual Career Consultations, an established programme of Career Development Workshops and developing career resources accessible from the IAD website. I work closely with the Researcher Development Team to develop resources and training that fit our researcher’s needs. I am passionate about supporting researchers to achieve their full potential whether that is within academia or beyond.

Professional Interests

Special interest in Narrative CV’s and the development of sector-wide training, professional networking, online resources and careers theory.

Professional Activities

I have previously worked in a variety of Higher Education Institutions and have developed a specialisation working with postgraduate students and research staff. I am keen to produce relevant career resources for research staff and as such have an interest in developments within the HE sector. For example, I am a member of the UKRI, Alternative Uses Group (AUG) for Narrative CV’s. The AUG is working toward producing training and resources surrounding the Narrative CV. I have also recently become a member of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS), Task Group for Research Students and Research Staff.
