About the Career Management for Early Career Academic Researchers online course, which is now open for bookings.

Career Management for Early Career Academic Researchers is open for bookings. This is a free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) and is a collaboration between the University of Glasgow, University of Edinburgh, and University of Sheffield.

Target audience: open to research students and early career research staff at any institution in the UK and beyond.

Aims & content: It aims to support researchers to explore their career options and make career plans. 

Through a series of articles, videos, discussions, and reflective exercises, researchers will be encouraged to:

  • consider what they want out of a career;
  • to explore the academic career path and many other career options;
  • and to increase their confidence in job search and applications.

Start date & length: The course will start on 27th January 2020. It is a 4-week course, with around 3 hours study per week recommended.
