Request a Book service for students (RaB)

Students can use this service to request purchase of books and other resources to be added to the Library collections to support their University study and research.

 

Use the Request a Book service for students (RaB) to tell us when we do not have a book you need in our collection, and we will try to buy it for the Library.

The Library has an e-preference policy for books and will purchase an e-book rather than a print book where an e-version is available.

Please note that at busy periods when the Library has to focus on fulfilling purchase requests from course organisers for Semester 1 and Semester 2 teaching materials, there may be delays in responding to requests submitted via the RaB service.

During the 2022/23 academic session, the Library acquired more than 2,000  books in response to requests submitted by students

The information you provide will be used by the Library to progress your resource purchase request.

We will use the supplied information to contact you should there be any queries or problems with your purchase request (e.g. items out of print/not available for purchase/not available in requested format).

We will use your e-mail address to alert you once the requested item has been added to Library collections and is available for you to consult.

We are using information about you because providing you with the requested necessary literature is part of our contractual obligation.
