Request an Interlibrary Loan

A guide to using DiscoverEd for requesting and tracking Interlibrary Loan materials using your Library Account.

Important Service Update

As of April 2020, users may place Interlibrary Loan Requests through DiscoverEd and manage loans using their DiscoverEd library account:

Who can use the ILL service?

All University of Edinburgh staff and students may place ILL requests. External users who are registered borrowers with the Library are not currently able to place requests for ILL material.

Interlibrary Loans can be used to request material which is not held by the Library. More information can be found on the main ILL information page.
