Copyright Enquiries Service
The Library offers a copyright enquiries service, which is staffed by a team of experienced professionals from a range of different backgrounds, to offer help and support with any copyright-related queries.
How we can help
The team offers bespoke advice based on the circumstances of the enquirer and draws upon its wealth of expertise to provide practical, useful support to staff and students. The service can offer impartial advice on most situations where copyright impacts academic teaching and research, including but not limited to:
- the use of 3rd party materials in course lectures and handouts
- copyright transfer agreements for journal articles and book chapters
- institutional site licensing schemes for legally copying materials, e.g. using the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) or Educational Recording Agency (ERA) schemes.
The Copyright Enquiries Service cannot seek and clear copyright permissions on your behalf, however we can suggest effective ways for you to do this. Also we cannot grant permissions for use of University owned material, although we may be able to point you in the right direction of the rights holders.
