DiscoverEd Migration - 8th June 2021

This page provides instructions for retrieving your SAVED SEARCHES following the DiscoverEd migration on 8th June

DiscoverEd moved  to a new platform on Tuesday 8th June.  Unfortunately it was not possible to copy over your Saved Searches, Alerts and RSS feeds during the upgrade.

If you wish to retrieve your Saved Searches, Alerts and RSS feeds you must take the following action before the end of July:

How to retrieve your Saved Searches, Alerts and RSS Feeds

1. Go to the old DiscoverEd interface at:  https://primo-pmteu02.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/primo-explore/search?vid=44UOE_VU2
2. Sign in to DiscoverEd.
3. Select Saved Items from the menu and then select the SAVED SEARCHES tab.
4. Review your Saved Searches, Alerts and RSS feeds and take a note of those that you wish to keep.  You can copy and paste the search terms into a Word document or similar.

You will then need to add each Saved Search to your My Favourites in DiscoverEd manually as follows:

1. Go to the new DiscoverEd interface at: https://discovered.ed.ac.uk/
2. Sign in to DiscoverEd.
3. Run each search by entering the search terms into the DiscoverEd search box.
4. Use the Save this search to My Favourites option to save each search.
5. If you wish to set up an alert for a search, select the Turn on notification for this query option.  You will be prompted to enter the email address where you wish the alert emails to be sent. 
6. If you wish to create an RSS feed for a search you must go to the SAVED SEARCHES tab in My Favourites and use the Set an RSS for this search button to create the feed.
