Open Educational Resources

Open Educational Resources are any type of educational materials that are available under an open license, free for others to reuse and remix in their learning and teaching.

The OER service underpins the University of Edinburgh's OER policy, providing support for staff and students to use and create OERs and open knowledge in their learning and teaching practice.

Support includes:

  • Digital Skills workshops and training sessions, focussing on:
    • OER, open knowledge and open education;

    • Copyright and open licensing;

    • Using licensed and open resources in online learning environments;

    • Playful engagement for copyright literacy.

  • Dedicated and tailored advice for individuals, courses and research projects planning to use or create OERs.
