Educational Media Studio FAQ

FAQs about the Educational Media Studio

Can the studios be used for live broadcasting?

No, studio spaces are setup for pre-recorded filming and not live streaming.

Can I book a longer time slot?

Time slots have been created to help manage the recording process however if you require more time we advise booking both the 1330-1500 and the 1530-1700 slots in the same studio.

Can I book a same-day recording session?

No, in order to accomodate our existing media projects along with staff availability on campus, there is a minimum 5 day lead time for all new bookings.

How quickly can I receive my final cut video after filming is finished?

For Self-service Media Hopper Create recordings: If you book a Self-service Media Hopper Create recording, your video will be available in Media Hopper Create after filming. There are no post production edits with a self-service Media Hopper Create recording, however you can make simple edits yourself within Media Hopper Create.

For Advanced Media Production: Advanced media production requires post filming edits (post production). Our targets for post-production are;

  • Within 3  working days we will share the first edit with you via Media Hopper Create,

  • Within 2 working days you should provide feedback on the rough edits,

  • Within 2 working days we will share the final edit with you via Media Hopper Create.

Although we always strive to turn around your final cut video as quickly as possible, we allow 7 working days for editing each video as our media team are often balancing multiple projects at once. The turnaround time can be discussed and agreed with a member of the media team during your 30 minute consultation.
