Exam formats

Your exam timetable will confirm which exams are in person and which are online. Your timetable will also confirm the duration for your exams.  

 

School advice for problems during the exam period

General guidance for reporting issues during exams

Make sure you provide the information needed in order to help solve the issue.  Information such as:

  • The exam you are sitting
  • Your name and student ID
  • A clear description of the issue with screenshots where relevant
  • If you've contacted Information Services, any call reference number you have been assigned
  • Please attach a copy of your exam if near the deadline

Course email accounts will be regularly monitored during UK office hours while the exam is running.

If you have any issues during your exam, please refer in the first instance to the specific instructions as stated on the exam paper or in the exam guidance available on Learn. If, after doing this your query is unresolved, please email uto.sps@ed.ac.uk AND the course administrator (details can be found on Learn) stating which exam you are taking and your query in detail.

If you have any issues in submitting, you should email a copy of your completed exam to uto.sps@ed.ac.uk AND the relevant course administrator BEFORE the deadline.
