Applying a Licence to Content on Media Hopper Create

Here is some information to help you understand the different licensing options available when uploading content to Media Hopper Create.

Applying a Licence to Content on Media Hopper Create

When you upload media onto Media Hopper Create there are a number of copyright statements and licences available that you can apply to your media. Take the time to consider your copyright and licensing options and then select the one that best suits your needs.

Generally, any content you create in the course of your employment will be copyright to you and the University.  If you create a video that includes content created by a third party copyright holder (someone other than yourself), it is important that you have permission to use this content.  E.g. the content has been licensed for use by the University, is in the public domain, has been shared under open licence, or is used in accordance with the exceptions to UK copyright.

The University has an Open Educational Resources Policy that actively encourages colleagues to use, create and publish Creative Commons licensed learning and teaching resources to enhance the quality of the student experience.  Visit the OER Service to find out more about open educational resources and the University’s commitment to open knowledge.
