Getting started with Learn

Learn Ultra is the new and improved version of the University’s Virtual Learning Environment, Learn. 

Learn is the University’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and over the summer of 2023, we moved to the most recent version, Learn Ultra. To help get you started with Learn Ultra, a self-paced training resource has been created to introduce you to the top tasks undertaken within the Learn VLE. The Learn Basics course was developed as an introduction to Learn. This session covers the key tasks that help to ensure a user can competently access, navigate and create basic content within Learn.

To access the Learn Basic Training, click on the green button and log into P&M (SSO required).

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course you will have learned how to: 

  • Log in to Learn 

  • Navigate the left-hand menu 

  • Modify notifications 

  • Favourite courses and manage courses display 

  • Navigate a course 

  • Create a course announcement 

  • Create a Learning Module 

  • Create a Document 

  • Embed an image in a Document 

  • Embed a video from Media Hopper in a Document 

  • Copy content from one course to another
