What will it cost to vote in a session?
If set up correctly, with a web-enabled device, the service will incur no cost to students.
The University’s site license for Top Hat means that for the majority of students there will be no cost to using Top Hat - assuming that you own a suitable device and that you use it while connected to the University Wi-Fi service.
If you use your mobile data plan to take part in a session instead of the Wi-Fi service, then any data exchange with Top Hat during the session will be taken off your data allowance. If you exceed your monthly data allowance then you will be charged for the extra used by your provider.
If the lecturer enables SMS responses and you vote on questions via text messages then you will be charged for each text sent (or they will be subtracted from any allowance you have as part of your phone plan).
