Adding a text to Wikisource
A guide to importing openly licensed books to Wikisource from free sources, like Internet Archive and the University's own open books repository.
The stages in a project are:
- Check that the version of the document does not exist already in Wikisource.
- Check that copyright conditions are fulfilled
- Upload images of the pages to Wikimedia Commons
- Upload text of the pages
- Create the page in the main namespace
- As chapters are loaded, transclude the pages to the main namespace
- Add the appropriate copyright, category and incompleteness tags
- Start proofreading
- Add entries into the appropriate Portal
- Add entry to the Author page, creating it if necessary.
- When the document is verified, remove the incompleteness tags.
