Creating your LinkedIn Learning account

There is a wide range of different ways you can create your free LinkedIn Learning account. Two of the main ways are outlined below.

Via the University's MyEd portal

  1. Go to the University's MyEd web portal
  2. Click on the Login into MyEd button. On the University login page, enter your University Username (UUN) and choose Continue. Next, enter your Password and choose Log in.
  3. Staff members should choose Services > Staff Development > LinkedIn Learning. Students should choose Studies > Study Tools > Build your skills > LinkedIn Learning. Alternatively, you can search for 'LinkedIn Learning' using the search box at the top right.
  4. When the LinkedIn Learning channel appears, click on the blue LinkedIn Learning button. Support information can be found under the 'For more information:' section.
  5. At the 'Congrats. You now have access to LinkedIn Learning' prompt, choose whether or not to connect your personal LinkedIn profile (this can be done at a later date).
  6. Next, select the subjects you'd like learning suggestions for (if any) and continue.
  7. Your LinkedIn Learning account will now become active and ready to use.

Accessing your LinkedIn Learning account

If you have already created your LinkedIn Learning account, simply use one of the above methods to access the service. As you have already decided whether or not to connect with your LinkedIn profile and provided suggests for the type of content you're interested in, you should be taken straight to the main LinkedIn Learning homepage to start your learning journey after you log in using your University credentials.

LinkedIn Learning access after leaving the University

What happens to your account after you graduate or leave the University?

Students who graduate and members of staff who leave the University will still be able to access their LinkedIn Learning account for a short period of time after leaving. The amount of time accounts can be accessed is based on the University's account expiry policy and varies depending on your status.

Once a computer access account reaches its end date, a process begins whereby the account moves through three stages: expiry, suspension and deletion. Users who have more than one affiliation (for instance an Undergraduate student starting a Postgraduate course) will continue to have access to the services for their continuing affiliation.

Access to services (including LinkedIn Learning) is maintained while the account is expiring.
