Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is an online hub that staff and students can use to collaborate and communicate with each other. Use it to:

  • Message people using the Chat tool
  • Video conference and phone
  • Share and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files in real time

SharePoint Online is a mobile-friendly technology platform included in the University's Microsoft Office 365 offering. It is used for collaboration through intranet and communication sites, document and records management spaces, and workflow process automation.

Skype for Business

Microsoft are retiring Skype for Business by July 2021 and you should use Microsoft Teams now.


The University's Zoom video-conferencing service used for informal, non-confidential meetings, collaboration with external colleagues, and, where required, for facilitating University research.
