What we do – key features of the Digital Skills and IT Training service.

The Digital Skills and IT Training service offers IT training and online resources to develop the digital capabilities of all our staff and students, whether learning, teaching, researching or supporting these activities. This includes:

  • Advice and consultancy on developing digital and IT skills
  • Digital Skills Framework
  • Development and delivery of the Digital Skills Programme of classroom-based training for staff and students
  • Development and delivery of online courses (including LinkedIn Learning) for staff and students
  • Structured development programmes and cohort-based learning
  • Documents catalogue of guides and workbooks
  • Attendance reports for Schools covering classroom-based and LinkedIn Learning courses
  • Digital skills training needs analysis
  • Digital skills role profiling
  • Train the Trainer workshops and ongoing Trainer development

Charges for premium digital skills and IT training services

Premium services

We charge for our premium services of tailored courses (including all courses with an external audience) and project training.

We charge for:

  • Time to develop tailored and project training courses and materials, and to organise and deliver courses;
  • Materials printed by the Digital Skills and Training team, although electronic materials and those printed by customer are free;
  • Delivery of tailored and project courses where there are less than eight attendees.

Charging structure

We charge the standard ISG daily rate which is £350 per day. There is no charge for the first half day (3.5 hours) of development time, or for delivery of one course with eight or more attendees. Thereafter, charges apply.
