Getting your first student card

A guide to applying for and collecting your first student card.

The University card is your student ID that you are required to carry when on campus.

Applying for a student card

You will be informed via the personal email account that you used in the University admissions process on when and how to upload and submit a photograph online for your card.

Guidelines for uploading and submitting a photograph for your University card

Track the progress of your photograph submission

Once you have submitted your photograph you will receive an initial confirmation email and subsequently an approval or rejection email to both your personal email account and your University student email account.

If rejected, the Card Photo Submission channel will then be re-enabled and you will be able to upload another photograph.

Already supplied a photograph?

If you have previously had a card or applied for one, then the photograph upload facility may be disabled for you. This is because we will already have a photograph for you on our database.

You can check the photograph that we have for you by going to the Student Details channel on the Accounts tab of MyEd.

On-campus students

If you are happy for us to produce your new card using the photograph that we already hold for you then you can have it created at one of the Card help desks.
