NVivo

NVivo is qualitative data analysis software for work with very rich text and multimedia information.

NVivo is available on all Open Access PCs across campus.

University wide site license

Software services administer the 5 year NVivo site license agreement, now underwritten by Information Services Group which  permits all university staff and students to use the software under the agreement for their university work.  The new 5 year site license ends 1st April 2025.  

 

PLEASE NOTE: NVivo is not permitted to be used outside of the UK and Rupublic of Ireland for more than 12 weeks.  If you are using the licence outside of the UK/ROI for more than 12 weeks you will need to purchase a full NVivo licence directly from Lumivero.

Students and Staff can request installations of NVivo from the Software Center on University Managed PCs, and can request an installation for use on a Personal Device via our Request Forms  PLEASE NOTE the version  from the Software Center is version 14 so please use that code.

NVivo 2024 - 2025 Codes now available.

New codes expire at the end of April 2025. Please use Nvivo codes request form to request an updated code. If you are outside of the UK/ROI please contact Software Services Team directly.

Nvivo at the university

Edinburgh University units can install Nvivo for windows or mac on site as part of a campus wide site license.

Staff & student home use

University Staff and Students are permitted to install Nvivo on personal computers for University work for Mac or Windows.
