Getting Microsoft Software
Campus provides certain microsoft products for university staff counted in the agreement.
How do I get the software?
There are various ways you can get hold of Microsoft software at the University.

Office365 download:
- Staff and students can sign into the Office365 portal, download and install Office for use on home and personal devices.
- Permits installation on upto 5 computers, 5 tablets and 5 mobile devices.
- Could also use Office365 apps on the web

Managed Desktop:
- Most Campus software is delivered direct to the desktop in your office if it is a managed desktop computer.
- Only staff in the campus count are permitted the campus software on sole use university desktops.
- Install or request software from the Application Catalogue if it's not on your computer
- Some software such as Project Pro, Visio Pro or prem and Visual Studio Enterprise require the purchase of a select license
- Get in touch with your local IT support or the IS help services* to request the software on your managed desktop if it's not there.
- N.B. Newest versions may not be packaged yet.
- Most Campus software is delivered direct to the desktop in your office if it is a managed desktop computer.

Manual installation at the university:
- Check to see of your local IT support has arrangements in place for installing the software.
- Or make an appointment installation via IS help services*.
- Only staff in the campus count are permitted the campus software on sole use university desktops.

Work at Home:
- Superceeded by Office365 benefit in most cases but useful for installation without an office365 login.
- Staff in the campus count can purchase a personal copy of office or windows upgrade from On The Hub's edinburgh page.
