Requesting new doors

Fitting a card reader to an existing door is often possible, but needs careful thought.

If you are responsible for a building, or an area within a building, and you wish to introduce a secure area by having an access control door installed, you should contact your Estates and Buildings Premises Manager in the first instance to discuss your requirement.

The E&B Premises Manager will contact Information Services to discuss the feasibility of installing a card reader. Cost will be a key factor.

There will be an initial installation cost, which could be several thousand pounds.

For new internal access control doors or turnstiles, there is a monthly fee which covers the ongoing maintenance of the system.
